Hello again, Beyond the Threshold. Once again, I’d like to say happy birthday as we wrap up BTT’s creation month.
I know the last post was a bit dark and grim, so I’d like to make a lighthearted, full-of-gratitude post to show my true love and appreciation for this platform I have.
Creating this blog a year ago was a huge risk. I didn’t know if I’d actually follow through, if I’d even enjoy this once I got started, and spending the money to have a website was a lot. Ever since I was little, I’ve enjoyed writing, making short stories in class, researching for essays; I’ve always loved writing. I've won numerous awards throughout my schooling for the papers and short stories I've written. It is such a creative outlet; you can write for yourself, to share with others, and you can put so much meaning into what you write. I love the freedom of creating and writing things I love in hopes that whoever reads it may be intrigued.
It’s so special having this hobby. My current career path is psychology, as all I want to do is help people feel good. Whether that be through sharing spooky stories, talking about true crime, expressing empathy on certain life experiences, or telling you all about my situations and experiences, anything that makes someone smile, feel more seen, or just enjoy getting cozy reading some scary stuff. I think having this little slice of the internet is honestly like a big public diary for me. I just get to write and talk about whatever I want, and I find it fun. Researching articles for these posts or deep diving into topics and giving my opinion on it is just so fun for me.
It truly means the world that in Beyond the Thresholds’ first year of creation I've been able to connect with people, brag about my blog to strangers (who probably didn't search it later, but that’s okay), and be able to come up with my first physical product store. There are options live on The Beyond Store right now. As we get closer to the holidays, I am still making products, coming up with new ideas, and working out kinks, but I have made a few sales so far, and it makes me ecstatic to keep going.
I never thought this blog would turn into a true business for me as well. Not only that, but a business sourced from my favorite place in the entire world, THE BEACH. I’m so incredibly grateful for this platform and outlet, as I love anything that keeps my hands busy and off my phone. Thank you all for your support, and I hope we can continue growing this hobby of mine together.
Goodbye for now; see you in the next one.
