Fall Fleeting So Soon

Happy Monday! We are almost at Halloween! T-minus 5 days! This is my favorite time of year, which I could and definitely will talk about all year round; the creepiness never leaves me. As we approach Halloween, I realize how quickly this fall season is passing by. So today we're going to talk about the best things to do in FALL. Free things, money things, at-home things, and outdoor things.

First up, and most obvious, everyone loves a good pumpkin patch. This is obviously a money thing, but normally pretty inexpensive depending on where you go. In my area, pricing for this tends to range from 10-25 dollars a person. However, the more expensive you get, the more that's included in the price. Sometimes these farms include corn mazes, apple picking, hayrides, and more. Shouting out my personal favorite spot to go is Johnson's Corner Farm

For something Free to do in the fall is to see the leaves! Sounds boring, I know, but it's actually so fun! There are multiple websites and Facebook posts that tell you what areas in your state are at peak leaf color change, if you're too late, or if it's too early. This is such a fun free activity! You just have to have some gas in the tank and be able to gather up some friends or family to tag along, or enjoy it by yourself! Some people collect leaves and make things out of them, take photos for social media, there's so much to do with something so simple.

Okay, now the obvious, HAUNTED HOUSES! These require money most times, but OMG are they so stinking fun! I would say, on average, near me, haunted attractions range from 30-90 dollars, depending on the place. As an avid Halloween, spooky, and scary thing lover, I love a good haunted house. Sometimes they suck, and other times they scare the crap out of you. More than likely, you also have an abundance of haunted houses near YOU! Now, haunted houses don't always cost you anything. I've noticed that as years pass, lots of people are running small free haunted walkthroughs. Some ask for money donations, food donations, etc, to keep things running or to donate to specific causes. I love this idea so much, as it allows people to experience haunted houses without the expense, and normally, they do a great job! I recently went to a home-run haunted attraction, and it was scarier than anything I'd gone to this year. Now, for all my readers in the PA area, you'll have to let me know if PennHurst Asylum is worth it! It's definitely on my list of places I want to try!

Finally, another free activity is to walk around your neighborhood or set the car up nice and cozy and drive around looking at everyone's Halloween decorations. I recently just did this with my partner for a cheap/free date night, and we had so much fun! Leave a comment with your favorite genre of Halloween decorations! I love vintage Halloween.

Well, that's all for this week! I hope everyone enjoys their Halloween and has lots of FRIGHTS. I'll be enjoying a short weekend getaway with my partner, where lots of spooky events will follow!
